“When life gives you lemonade, make lemons. Life will be all like, ‘WHAAAT?!?!'”
– Phil Dunphy, Modern Family
The other Jessie and I spent a good hour in the Morcom Rose Garden Friday morning. Unfortunately, we missed the good light and the wind gave me more than my fair share of wardrobe malfunctions. Despite these hiccups, I gotta say: photo shoots are one of the best ways to start your day (especially when followed by a pastry pit stop at Boot and Shoe)!
I adore this dress by Anna Sui. On my normal budget, I could only dream of affording one of here pieces. Lucky for me, I got it for a song at my favorite East Bay consignment shop, Urbanity. I love how the print is a little ambiguous. Are those flowers, lemons, or BOTH?
I used some of my Crossroads “cash” for this LOFT cardigan. It’s a lovely color, but I’m thinking it might end up in my trade bag pretty soon. Out with the old, in with the new!
After years of searching, I found the perfect cork wedges at the perfect price (ok, that’s an over exaggeration. It was more like a week)! These Tahari’s were hiding in the sale section at DSW. Sixty bucks with an extra 40%? Sold.
Hope this post helps you shake off your case of the Mondays!
Yesterday, my dear friend and talented photographer, the other Jessie, sent me this:
“Google Manoush Soooooo cute!”
Within less than an hour, I found myself lusting over Manoush’s downtown girl meets California bohemian flair. Flipping through their look book left me longing for the days I doodled my own dress designs in my Lisa Frank spiral bound notebook. Full of color and whimsy, Manoush is clearly every little girls dream closet come to life. I’m loving the juxtaposition of their structured pieces with gypsy embellishments; their impeccable tailoring makes this acid-trip-of-a-wardrobe feel a bit more grown up.
And the cherry on top? A unicorn print pencil skirt. I’m in heaven.
Here’s a few of my favorite looks from their latest collection.
Unfortunately, I think I might have to starve myself for a month before I can afford any of these ensembles. Too bad I like eating so damn much. *le sigh* A girl can dream!
It’s here! My first outfit post! My awesome photographer and amazing friend, another Jessie of course, helped me stake out this gem of a location in Golden Gate Park. Such a beautiful setting on a perfect day nonetheless. I couldn’t have asked for a better day and better company for my first shoot! We were so pleased with the results!
Decided to dive in with this holiday and go all red, white and blue!

I’m looking forward to my future outfit posts! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy posting!
